"Look from the end. See yourself as a 98-year-old person and ask yourself, if you could talk to that version of you now, would you continue to do the things that you're doing today?"
"Death has always been a motivator. I think death is the best life hack. The Greeks, the Stoics, they have Memento Mori—remember that you will die. For me, it's always been a motivator to know that I don't know when my last breath is going to be, and I don't want to waste it on something that's not true to who I am."
"Write one hundred things down that you want to achieve, have, or experience in your life. Then cut that into fifty, then twenty, then ten, five, and finally three. Those top three—focus on pushing the needle forward in those areas."

Prince EA [0:00 - 0:30]: Look from the end. See yourself as a 98 year old person and ask yourself, if you could talk to that person of you now, would you continue to do the things that you're doing today? Honesty. Death has always been the motivator. I think death is the best life hack. You know, the Greeks, the stoics, they have the skull on their deaths. They have memento mori. Remember that you will die. And so for me, it's always been a motivator to know that I don't know when my last breath is going to be. And so I don't want to waste it on doing something that's not true to who I am.

Narrator [1:12 - 2:08]: Welcome back. In this episode, our host, Joe Simon has a truly special guest. Many of you might already know him as his work has reached millions, but for those of you that don't, his name is Prince Ea. He's a multifaceted creator hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, content creator, filmmaker, spoken word artist. But he likes to refer to himself as a life optometrist and he helps people clear the mental blocks that prevent them from seeing their true potential. His journey is nothing short of inspiring. He started in the music industry performing with big names like Ludacris and DJ Khaled, but eventually found his true calling in spoken word and poetry. And his impactful videos on social issues like climate change and the educational system have garnered hundreds of millions of views. In this episode, Joe speaks with Prince about his incredible journey, his pivot from hip hop to spoken word and the powerful messages he shares through his work. They also discussed his latest projects, including his gratitude journal and Lifeyouniversity. And we get his advice for aspiring entrepreneurs. So let's get started and hear from Prince EA himself.

Joe Simon [2:12 - 2:29] - Welcome to Millionaire Mile. This is your host Joe Simon. Today I got a very special guest with me. I know 12 million people out there know who he is already, no one else. But you have done so much video. But you know what, prince? I'm going to have you introduce yourself to the audience and tell them something about it.

Prince EA [2:30 - 3:07] - So my name is Prince. I am originally from St. Louis, Missouri. Some people call me a content creator, filmmaker, spoken word artist. But I always refer to myself as a life optometrist, briefly. I'll tell you what that is. So a regular optometrist, they clear the vision for their patients, so they get rid of the blocks, the glaucoma, cataracts, what have you. So I do something similar. I clear the limiting beliefs, the fear, the outdated information that blocks people from seeing their vision, from seeing their truth, from seeing who they truly are and who they can really be.

Joe Simone [3:08 - 3:27] - That's amazing, man. I mean, and, I mean, I've known you for many years. People, once they see you, once they hear your voice, they automatically know who you are because your content just separates you. So I gotta ask you, how did you get into it? What was the starting point? Like? He said, hey, I could do this. You didn't go to high school or college for this?

Prince EA [3:28 - 4:40] - No, no, it was music. You know, I started in music and, you know, I was a struggling hip hop artist and, you know, out of St. Louis and wanted to be the best rapper in the world and had a song on the radio and does stuff with, you know, Ludacris and DJ Khaled. I actually. We're in Miami now. I actually performed with him on a stage in front of 60,000 people in Miami. This was many, many lives ago. And I loved it. I loved it until I didn't. Until I felt like hip hop wasn't serving me. It wasn't who I came to this planet to be. And so I pivoted into slowed down, spoken word, poetic vehicle to express ideas. And these ideas, as I said before, they help people remove their limiting beliefs. And I also touch on social issues. So a lot of people know me for my video on climate change, the most new video on climate change in the world did a video on the education system. It's called I sued the school system. This one got like 250 million views across Facebook and YouTube combined. And, yeah, here I am today, continuing to try to be as creative as I can, to spread a message that can impact and transform.

Joe Simon [4:41 - 5:18] - It's amazing. I mean, most small business owners, he said something that was very important is the adaptation. You adapted, you pivoted, right? You were doing something even though you loved it. You realize, you know, there's something bigger, there's something else that's out there for you. You know, and I think today we're at a meeting together, and they've talked about purpose. And they talked about why, and it's very important. But for you, you did that pivot, and that is, that took some, obviously, courage. What were you saying to somebody that's listening right now that, you know, they could be in a job, they could be a dumb job. They could be. They could be rapping and saying, hey, this is not for me anymore. They could say, you know what? Should I quit my entrepreneurial life and go pick up a job? Be that advice?

Prince EA [5:19 - 6:36] - Yeah, you gotta. You gotta look from the end, see yourself as a 98 year old person and ask yourself, if you could talk to that version of you now, would you continue to do the things that you're doing today? Death has always been the motivator. I think death is the best life hack. You know, the Greeks, the Stoics, they have the skull on the death, you know, memento mori. Remember that, you will die. And so for me, it's always been a motivator to know that I don't know when my last breath is gonna be. And so I don't want to waste it on doing something that's not true to who I am. And there's so many people that climb that ladder of success. I'm using air quotes now, success. And they realize, they get to the top, and they realize it was leaning against the wrong wall. So you definitely don't want to do that. So you want to take some time in solitude, take some space. You know, write down, okay, what do I really want out of life? I call this the rule of 100. And I say write 100 things down that you want to achieve, have experience in your life, 100 things. And then cut that into 50, and then cut that into 20. Cut that into ten, five, and then three. In that top three. You need to be doing something to push the needle forward in those three areas. You might not get 100 things done in your life, but you can get those three. And I think if you get those three, you’ll have lived a fulfilled life.

Joe Simon [6:37 - 7:05] - Man, that is great, man. That is an actionable step. I love that. That was a great takeaway. Memento mori. I mean, I think a lot of us business owners, we live by that creed. I think Mosey said it recently in a podcast that, hey, if I was 85 years old, what would I would give to come back to today? And that was great. So what's next for you? What's next for Prince right now? What's on the template? I haven't seen you in a couple of years, so it was great to bump into you again. Here but what's going on, man? What's the next step?

Prince EA [7:06 - 7:44] - Yeah. So, months ago, I launched the gratitude journal called the three x Happier journal, guaranteed to make you three times happier in 60 days of your money back. I took all of my knowledge and information that I've experienced over the years, put it inside of a journal, tested this journal over a few years before I put it out, and it's all about mindfulness, presence, self care. I think it's the best gratitude journal, best happiness journal on the market. So I've got that. I've also got a membership called Life University, spelled Y O U university. So life, you the life you want to live, and it's all about how you can become the best, highest version of yourself.

Joe Simon [7:45 - 8:25] - Man, that is absolutely amazing. Man, that's unbelievable. I mean, you know, not to compare go getter, but, I mean, there's a lot of entrepreneurs right now trying to figure out, okay, how do I do that next? But I want to bring it back to that person right now that's saying that they're brand new to entrepreneurism or they're just trying to get out and just take the next step. What's the best advice you can give them? Say, hey, this is the first tactic you can do. If you're below 100,000, below 10,000, whatever you're doing, or, you know, like we always say, the first million is the hardest to break through and is the biggest challenge. But once you get past it, all of a sudden, doors start opening for you if they're right at the cusp. So if you have two ways to look at it, right at the cusp or if they're just starting out brand new, what's some advice you can share with the audience?

Prince EA [8:26 - 9:11] - Yeah, you know, I feel like things don't get better unless you get better. While people think it's selfish to work on yourself, I think it's selfless because you can't pour out of an empty cup. So I think you got to work on your own mindset, your own health. You've got to get solid, because that energy transfers into what you do, what you create, what you provide, and how you serve and show up in the world. So I say focus on you becoming the best version by saturating your mind with all the information, updating information in your industry. And second, a mentor. I mean, a mentor is like a cheat code for success. So find somebody who's already achieved what you want to achieve and become friends with them. Figure out how you can serve them, and hopefully they can give you some good advice back.

Joe Simon [9:12 - 9:18] - Absolutely. Modeling mentorship, a lot of great takeaways. Thank you once again. Great being around you.

Prince EA [9:19] Great interview.

Joe Simon 9:28 - Oh yeah, man, look. Quick bite sized episode. The concept behind us walking outside. We're in person, not stuck in the studio. And thank you again.
